Day 6- L.A. Showcase Time

We pull up to 3 Clubs, the location of our showcase in L.A, and we immediately feel like were back in New Orleans.  A green building with only a sign that says cocktails, and one black door, nestled on the side of a strip shopping center, with its fair share of vagrants.  Summary, it looks like super sketchy.   We walk in and find a hip, well furnished, red curtained venue in the round with elevated lounge seating, and a small half moon shaped stage in the middle.  The back bar was also pretty nice.  Needless to say we were pleasantly surprised.

We were greeted by our new friend Jennifer, the bartender and proprietor 3 Clubs, who also happens to be good friends with the owner of One Eyed Jacks, one of our favorite local venues.   After figuring how to fit all of our gear and our bodies in a 10x10 half circle with out smashing each others faces in when we moved, we were interviewed by the guys over at the Rock And Roll Supershow. (http://www.therocknrollsupershow.com/)  We tried to sound intelligent and most likely failed, but we'll see how we look when the episode comes out tomorrow.

On to the set….   It was pretty fun. Being on an incredibly small stage, rocking out meant knocking over beers, mic stands and each other, which is the way it should bee.   Andrew rocked so hard on the guitar that he broke one of his strings during our last song, Rocketship.   Keep in mind that Andrew the heaviest strings that they sell in a pack.   We're going to start stringing his guitar with bass strings.   The crowd was blown away by the music, and we got some great feedback.

Then…. it was on to hang out in L.A with our gracious host Nicole Poulos (with Sideways Media).   We journeyed to the Rainbow Bar and Grill hangout of famous 80's rockers, and got pizza and beer.  John Belushi had his last drink there, Pamela and Tommy had certain "escapades" there.   We saw a guy get punched in the face and carried out in a stretcher.   We also met some guys who were working on a History of Metal Documentary for VH1.   Andrew almost peed his pants, and we shot the shit, talked metal, and music, and had a few beers, then walked back home.   All and all it was a great night.
